Sweet, Slow, Easygoing Summer -
Welcome to Summerhouse on Everett Bay
This perfectly planned gated community is a North Carolina village created in the Coastal Cottage style perched along the peaceful waters of the Intracoastal Waterway. The white sandy coast of Topsail Beach is within view from the property.
Surf City is nearby and a little northwest is the lovely town of Holly Ridge. To the south, you’ll find historic Wilmington—a cultural, shopping, health and transportation center in our gorgeous coastal region.
In thoughtful consideration of every detail a creative vision arises, fresh as a summer sunrise, yet feeling deep, like roots of an old live oak. It involves the sort of American ingenuity that invented the cotton gin and learned first how to fly.
- The perfect location on the Carolina coast; where you can enjoy a mild climate year round.
- A colonial community built with the charm of a 17th Century village, with all the essentials of modern living.
- Everything you need; it's a combination of solitude & community, just outside the door of your summer house, deep-water ocean access just minutes away & city pleasures less than an hour away!
A bit of long ago...
Summerhouse on Everett Bay is woven into the land, creating a peaceful retreat in the middle of nature. The first residents of the area were Tucscarora Indians who used the islands for fishing camps.
Next came the famous Revolutionary Colonel John Spicer, who led the Onslow volunteers on his ship The Adventure. His eldest son founded the Spicer Plantation where Summerhouse is now located. The Spicers worked the land for several generations, but eventually moved on, when the days of sailing ships came to an end.
